Last month, our client Tourvest Inflight Retail services, announced their new partnership with a major international airline to supply food & beverage services on short haul flights from Heathrow and Gatwick.  We partnered with their IT team to provide them with the complete IT network infrastructure to support the service within just 10 weeks.
When Tourvest embarked on the task of providing the airline with a Food & Beverage service to complement their Duty Free offering on short haul flights, they needed an IT partner with the expertise and flexibly to deliver a complex project within a short timeframe.  With this new contract in place, the company had agreed to reduce their downtime commitment from 2 hours to just 15 minutes. This shorter acceptable downtime, required a completely new infrastructure build and set-up within a high security environment.

We had been working in partnership with Tourvest for several months to support their IT team with 24/7 server monitoring and on demand managed IT services.  When this new project came up, we put together a project team to design, specify and procure an fully redundant N+1 network infrastructure from the ground up. This network solution is created with two independent systems to eliminate single points of failure, reducing downtime to just 5 mins per year.  The system is replicated across three sites in Horley, Gatwick Airport and Hearthrow Airport.

“For major projects like this one with strict security in place, we prefer to work with local firms in the Sussex area. M2 Computing provided all the expertise we needed to complete the project. Because they have a small close knit team, they worked efficiently together, making quick decisions and delivering under incredibly tight timescales. We are very pleased with the outcome of the project.” comments Caeran Dollery, IT Infrastructure Manager, Tourvest Inflight Retail Services.
